This year Campus MovieFest, the largest student film festival, came to Rutgers for the first time. Upon registering each team is given a camera and a Macbook Pro with Final Cut Pro installed and allowed 7 days to produce and submit a 5 minute short. Morgan came to me looking for help, but unfortunately due to prior engagements the best I could do was loan him any and all of my equipment. I wish I had a larger part in this short’s production. Flash forward to last night where we attended the Rutgers CMF Premiere where they would show the top 16 short films and announce the top 3 that would be attending the Regional film festival in New York. Lo and behold, despite being one of the underdog films, Morgan’s production took Best Drama for the night. Look’s like we’re all headed to New York this May! Morgan’s done pretty well for a night of shooting and only a few days of post production.
What am I supposed to say?
I really am surprised that anyone wants to see or read my stuff. I’ve had plenty of blogs in the past but I thought of this one differently than the others, I wanted something not to just share photos and ideas but to share the process. Chronicles of a wannabe photographer, definitely.
I’m really not one for about me pages. I’m pursing photography because it’s something that actually makes me happy. I’m not trying to get rich or die trying, I just want to do something I enjoy. If I can make anyone else feel something real than it’s been a good day, that’s why lifestyle portraits and weddings are definitely my favorite things to photograph. Portraits and weddings are most interesting when the emotions are real. Natural is how I describe my style. I wait until the sun is low in the sky and shoot into the light, not really what’s recommended but it feels right.
Hit up my Tumblr and Flickr if you want to see more personal work.
